Working through difficult moments in psychotherapy: Experiential workshop for Mandarin-speaking therapists Live

🌸 Workshop Description

This intensive experiential workshop is designed specifically for Mandarin-speaking therapists seeking to enhance their clinical skills in navigating clients’ defenses in session. Drawing from four distinct theoretical approaches—drama therapy, Internal Family Systems (IFS), Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), and contemporary psychodynamic therapy—participants will develop practical skills and concrete strategies to manage transference, countertransference, and other attachment-based resistance. Participants will learn how to manage moments of emotional intensity and therapeutic ruptures through a combination of didactic presentations, live demonstrations, small-group exercises, and reflective discussions.  The workshop delves deep into the linguistic and cultural nuances that shape therapeutic encounters, offering a profound exploration of how language, cultural context, and embodied experience fundamentally inform defense mechanisms, emotional expression, and therapeutic healing. Participants will gain increased self-awareness and capacity to develop a refined, culturally attuned approach to working through clinical challenges. Teachings are appropriate for healthcare professionals as well as the general public. Healthcare professionals will be able to incorporate the tools and practices offered in this program in ways beneficial to clients or patients.
